10 Single Page Websites

Are you a huge fan of the single page website or do you wish the trend would just die? We are approaching the half year mark and single page websites only seem to be gaining in popularity. They come in all sorts of shapes and sizes… from horizontal to vertical and from scrolling to jump navigation. Some single page sites just use buttons to slide in new content.

I would love to hear what your thoughts are on single page sites, do you like them or not? Do you think they will be around for a while? Leave a comment below or send me a tweet @OakesDesign.

I think single page websites are good if you have very little information to display. If you have too much information, jumping between sections on a page can cause confusion for users. It can also be a very annoying way of navigating, especially when I’m on a website to get specific information.

Have to agree with Janna.. I’m designing my personal site right now but limiting it to 5 screen/pages in size including main page, anything more is unwieldy and messy… Its like anything, used well its great, used because its ‘the in thing’ and its usually a mess… personally I chose a single pager as its cleaner, in fact its forced me to clean up the c**p I probably would have had to fill the site with if I had gone with a multi pager..
